The spark was lit

The host of the house, Heikki Latvajärvi, worked in a local prefabricated concrete factory and farmed on the homestead as a sideline. The heavy manual labour caused such back problems that he had to start thinking about other sources of income. In addition, the threshing machine on the farm burnt down in the middle of the field during the autumn threshing season. From that spark, the couple concluded that it was a sign from heaven and something had to be done. They wanted to get the farm back to viability.
 
Venesjärvi and Kankaanpää are at the heart of the entrepreneurs and the big vision is to create new jobs in both Venesjärvi and Kankaanpää. As lovers of good wine, food and partying, Heikki and Sofia decided they had to do something crazy.
 
Drinking and making wine has been practised for many years. A new step seemed natural and the host couple decided to apply to Heikki's school in Lepaa to complete a professional qualification in wine production. Heikki got the place and graduated in 2019 as a winemaker. The hostess Sofia Latvajärvi graduated as a horticulturist and alcohol producer. The name of the company comes from the loud Sofia and the fact that there is always life and noise on the hill of the home farm. The wine shop opened in May 2020 and the fresh juice station in the autumn of the same year.
 
The spark from the field ignited an inner fire and passion for entrepreneurship and rural revitalisation. And so they lived their lives happily ever after with wine (or so they dreamed).
